Ladies Night with a difference
- Saturday 20th July
Alas our Master, Graeme McCormack was unable to attend the Ladies Festival this year and so Josh Vaughan took the lead in planning and arranging the event which was to be totally different to the many Festival's the Lodge has presented over the years.
Sensing a slight downturn in attendance over the last few years and that in July many were away on their holidays, he planned an evening at The Lounge a recently opened Jazz Club a little further along Aviation Way.
The event was attended by 78 which was the ideal number for the Club providing a wonderful ambiance. An excellent three course meal was provided and the resident group MJ & The Fellas instilled enjoyment and dancing with their selection of crooner songs.

A raffle was taken in aid of our masters charity PTSD999 which raised a magnificent £685 with an additional £150 won by Roy Squibb in an auction for two tickets (donated by the Club) for a dinner jazz evening. There was only one toast of the evening and that was to Iain MacMillan, our Master Elect for the forthcoming year.
This different approach to the evening certainly needed strong resilience in planning and encouraging change which proved a tremendous success and all thanks must be given to Josh for his confidence and hard work but, not forgetting also, Charlie his partner who was fully supportive and involved.
St Georges' Day Lunch
Following the success of last years St Georges Day lunch our master Graeme McCormack was very eager for the lunch to be repeated. This was duly picked up on by Austin Latham and our past master Roger Northwood in organising the event.
Needless to say on Sunday, 28th April there was a packed restaurant in which a great time was had not forgetting an excellent meal.
Brought back by popular demand was Yvonne Marshall and her 'Pop Bingo.'
The afternoon raised £300 for our masters charity PTSD999 and with a small £66 that came in later it was agreed to donate to Yvonne's 'Novi Survat' Goan School.
Indian meal & Quiz evening
What is now becoming an annual event Austin Latham and Yvonne Marshall again joined together in organising another Indian meal and Quiz evening including the obligatory 'Pop Bingo.'
The evening held in early April was yet another great success with £210 being raised for our Masters Charity, PTSD999 and £210 for Yvonne's 'Novi Survat' Goan School.
