Foulness Annual Bike Ride - Sunday 9th September 2018

Josh Vaughan arranged his ‘Evening of Craft Beer Tasting’ at the The Crafty Half, London Road, Leigh. Surprisingly, the evening was well supported by many of our members and friends of Josh. Other than the many beers for tasting there were meats and cheese snacks and a raffle which raised £300 for our masters charity, MacMillan Cancer Support. Well done Josh, great evening, We think!?!?!

Our Charity Steward, Austin Latham is seen here (on the right) presenting £600 cheques to both Andy Bracey and the Aaron Lewis Foundation charity’s. The money was raised from Austin’s very successful Zen City Chinese Banquet during November.

During his year as Master, Paul Marshall selected Macmillan Cancer Support for his charity. He raised a magnificent £3000 and you can see him here presenting a cheque to Caitlin Ashdown from the charity during early December…

Austin, is off again and this time with his second Zen City Chinese Meal Night in aid of our Master’s Charity ‘The Samaritans in York Road.’ Over 100 attended and an amazing ‘£1142’ was raised for the charity. No wonder he and his wife, Rhona have smiles on their faces!

2018…

Our energetic Charity Steward, Austin Latham has started the new year off by supporting our Paul Marshall’s wife Yvonne, who visits and supports a school charity in India. Austin encouraged some 20 members and partners to attend and join Yvonne’s friends for her Curry & Quiz Night.

‘£600’ was raised for her charity.

Tuesday 26th March 2019

It’s our LOI End of Season Indian Feast - the event was at the Saffron Lounge, Hamlet Court Road and was attended by 16 members with 5 visitors, 2 of which were non-masons!

Do we have some possible new members?

Our LOI members should also be justly proud, by raising £400 in charity collections over the season. This allowed donations of £100 each to four local charities.

Wednesday 24th April 2019

Another beer tasting event this time at the Leigh-on-Sea brewery.

Some 20 attended with great food supplied. Austin raised £191 in support of Castletrek - a small team of solidiers walking from Windsor Castle to Edinburgh Castle over 10 days; that equates to 44 miles per day!!! - They are raising money for the ‘Household

Calvalry Foundation’ and ‘Royal British Legion.’ - Glad we could be of help!
